I've been toying with the idea of buying a banjo for awhile. A friend recommended thomann.de, but is it wise to buy an instrument online? I really don't know what I need to get started, other than a banjo, what else do I need? What's the difference between four, five and six strings banjos? I'd like to play bluegrass…

What's the difference between four, five and six strings banjos? I'd like to play bluegrass style, so I would appreciate some recommendations for suitable banjos that cost less than €200.

Banjo tutors seem a bit thin on the ground so can anyone recommend some decent tutor books.

For Bluegrass you'll need a 5 string banjo.
