Creative Zen - more problems

I have the Creative Zen 16gb - very nice - but I now find that I can't delete audio files either via the Zen or the Zen Media Explorer on the desktop. It also shows four 'Music' folders. I copied over a new compilation file of mediatation cds by the one author and while it shows up on the Zen Media Explorer on the computer it fails to appear anywhere on the Zen -even though it shows in its files. Any help appreciated !

you can do a full reset ,go back to default ,i think it wipes off all mp3s,see creative support zen forums, i think it uses the pinhole in the player.or read the manual.

thanks' gamer' but I have done all that ! The problem seems to be removing files such as MP3s or videos - no matter how many times I remove them via the desktop pc they still remain on the Zen - and that is without doing a synchronisation, etc. Logically, as the Zen appears like a harddrive and I can address the files directly then it should be possible to drag and drop and/or remove files in that fashion. Indeed, I have placed an MP3 file consisting of about 10 audio cds in a folder and transferred them to the ZEn and while they show up as being in the Music folder they are invisible on the Zen player when disconnected from the desktop. Any other suggestions appreciated !

    try this:

    1) remove the zen software from your pc.

    2) have a look in device manager, you should find the zen listed in there as a portable device, delete it from device manager.

(device manager = right click on "Mycomputer" -> left click properties -> click on the tab marked "hardware" and then click on "device manager")

    restart pc.

Do not reinstall the zen software, the zen can be used as a portable hardrive and you can manually port across file to the correct folders.

Skip the software causes more issues than anything else.

after that nuke the player and hope for the best.
