Is there anything that is similar to this but stronger (and non perscription). My mother is recovering from surgery and this seems to be one of the few things easing the pain.

Would she not be better advised to call her doctors immediately if she is in pain, rather than rely on anonymous advice from a message board forum?

Given the day that's in it doctors might be hard to contact, so if she's a member of VHI she could call their NurseLine.

there is always a doctor on call service available and if you ring your GP they will probably have the number of the service on voicemail.

go to a doctor - pain means something and the treatment may not always be more painkillers.
