ooo poor you... you might have to turn up your tv while a ambulance is trying to get through a set of traffic lights to probably a serious incident where someone could be dieing!!!

Lights and sirens arn't for fun

They're not used to race back for shift change or to beat traffic they're used in the event of an emergency

Anyone who lives in a city hears them 24/7 there is nothing we can do about it

Trust me youll be glad of them when your on the recieving end

I never turn my TV up, and believe me, it's getting past the point where they could be on their way to a serious incident. I watch them from the balcony and the sit at the traffic lights for a while before they get frustrated and turn on the sirens to get past. I've been in the situation where I've needed them before and I've been grateful but this is beyond ridiculous at this stage.

Never think they could be sitting at the lights then a call comes through??

And yes it is sods law that the call comes through, you hit the lights and sirens only for you to be cancelled the far side of the junction but it does happen

The thing about ambulances is there is only 12 dfb ambulances for dublin city and country so time is of the essence because the nearest ambulance for a call in balbriggan is only leaving the mater etc

Hope I don't sound like too much of a smartarse but this is the equivalent of someone who lives in the countryside complaining about the smell of cowdung. Sirens are a part of life in the city and I'm sure they are never used in a trivial manner.

Do you really believe that a complaint to the relevant organisation/authority would result in fewer sirens? Or even that such a complaint would be taken seriously?

Locked. Advice on noise complaints is not an ES issue.
