I'm off to Egypt at the end of this month. I would like to buy a nice digital camera and a HDD camcorder, but I cant seem to find any info on whether they would be cheaper here or over there. Has anybody been to Egypt and purchased such things before? thanks.:)

To be honest I wouldn't recommend buying electronics in Egypt. First of all they're not much cheaper. Secondly you have no effective guarantees. And thirdly you get taxed on them leaving Egypt - or at least there's a high probability of it.

In my opinion we have better stock of camera's etc in Ireland. Egypt is not the place to be buying such things. You'll find them in the City Stars Mall in Cairo if you are that desperate. Egypt is not Singapore/Malaysia when it comes to electronics.
