Hehe. Well....I've only got a few minutes here. Waiting on a bus up to Pai. Anyway....Was a good fight. We were in the arsehole of nowhere. Ring in a field. Bit of a local festival kinda thing. Anyway, mick was the main event. They were dying to see a farang in action. :)

He started off with a good wai kru (spelling?) and got a round of applause for it. Fight was really good. Mick won all 5 rounds (that I could see anyway). Knocked yer man down in the 5th round and he didn't even get a count. Got about 20 seconds to recover. Anyway....after all that....the judges called the local lad the winner. Well...the crowd went absolutely mental. Bottles, cans, etc. all being thrown up into the ring. Micks trainer up in the ring going baloobas. Was one of those weird moments where you're just waiting for it to all kick off.

At one point there was an oul lad to the right of me with a big lump hammer in his hand. I thought he was after mick, so I'm standing there with me brick of a camera in my hand ready to clock him, but it turns out he had money on mick and was after the judges. :D

So it was all a bit crazy for about 5 minutes then the local coppers came over and escorted us away (very nicely like). Then......we think it's all over.....we're hopping in the back of this pickup....and some of the other crowd goes past mouthing off something or other....and the copper takes out his gun and loads it...*chi...chick*.

We went for beers after. It actually made for a really good night out tbh. :) As long as I live, I'll never forget that oul' lad with the lump hammer in his hand.

edit: Can someone post up the results from the warriors show when they get a chance? Cheers.

Hehe. You're the 2nd person to say that. :D You're not pom pui by any chance, are you?

Yeah, I'm at true bee in Pai. Training's good here. Very technical which I like. Bee is legendary as a trainer.

I did a week in Pai at the start, then a week in Chiang Mai, then last week in Pai. I'll write up some reviews in that camps thread when I get back.

HAHA!! Yes I am. Are there many people up there now? Is there a canadian guy called Kyle up there?

HAHA. Sawat Dee Pom Pui! :) I'll tell Bee you said hello. Afternoon session's on in an hour. I take it your pom pui's gone now? :D

Kyle was here (with another Canadian lad called Marco) but he's gone now. Marco was supposed to fight this Monday gone, but I bumped into him in Chiang Mai and he'd had "tummy trouble" for a week solid so was in doubt.

It's busy and quiet. Depends on the session. You get a lot of people kinda half doing it or only doing one session a day and quite a few first timers. There's a core group of 3 or 4 who are training to fight.

I'll stick up some pics when I get back, though I haven't taken that many 'cos I'm here on my own.
