I was trying to think up some way to make this as fair as possible.

I'd have to look at the vbulletin software but I assume mods/admins have some sort of IP check if this true would it be possible to create a poll and have the votes based on unique IP address's tagged to a username.

Now obviously there is ways around this via proxies etc and may the odd false positive with two legitimate people coming from the same address. Even tho you can get around this is takes a bit of work and I'm hoping too much work for someone to simply cast a vote on a forum.

I would apreciate karl that and the other mods that you dont close this post at least have an open discussion on other options available to us.

I presume that voting via ip isn't an option currently in vbulletin. If that's the case then it would take a lot of time and work to implement something like this. Even then it may screw up other things so I thing it would be more effort than it's worth.

While I appreciate that Film of the Week has its merits and think it's a pity that some people being muppets means it's had to be done away with, I have to wonder whether it really warrants the effort required to maintain a "fair" voting system. Wouldn't the time and work required in its implementation be disproportionally large in comparison to the popularity of Film of the Week?

What boggles this user is that some peeps actualy bothered to try and rig a board poll on filums. Get A Life.

No, that simply isn't feasable. Now please, don't start another thread on the subject.
