I have an old Windows 98 install disk after installing Linux on the PC. Now I was wondering if its possible to install Word97 off these disks onto an XP machine (My father insists its a better word processor) without having to install the Win98 OS itself? They're genuine disks now, I have the Liscence key, I just dont know…

If you have a separate Office 97 disc then yes. If not then it may be a restore image with Office preloaded, in this case you can't.
