this is kind of realted to another thread....
i have a slight bump (not a mole or coloured like a mole i think) on my face just about 1.5 inches above shaving area in mid cheek area.

problem is i shaved over it a long time ago and now i regulary have to give it a v light whisk over with the razor...i try to go over it v light so as to avoid more hairs growing around the slight bump EXCEPT that now there are more hairs growing around it and is becoming unsightly...I've been thinking for a v long time about asking someone WHAT CAN I DO but i am too embarrassed !

Next time you're at your GP, ask him/her.

I've a mole on my back, my GP noticed it and asked me if I wanted to get rid of it. I had no feeling either way so didn't bother going any further. But from his "whatever" attitude when asking, it didn't sound like it's much of a big deal to get removed.

As Placebo said, you shouldn't pluck hairs from moles. Your GP can advise you on the procedure to remove it and from what I know (from others talking) it's a bit sore but well worth it.

There is actually no risk to plucking mole hairs - that's an old wive's tale. Don't believe me though, ask your GP.

You really should talk to your GP anyway. If it is a certain type of mole, it might mean you are at a greater risk of developing skin cancer and it would be prudent to have it removed.
