I've seen airlines to be very accomodating when a young child is on board - my cousin travelled with Aerlingus and her parents and they were a great help.

A soother helps with the pressure of ascent and decent.

That being said I dont have a baby... but good luck!

We are flying with aer lingus and they seem to be great if you have small kids. We just want to make sure we are prepared. Thanks for your post. A soother is a must for us.

I've flown that same route with Aer Lingus 8 times with my son (he's 14 mos), make sure you request a bassinet row - they will set up a bassinet for the baby and it will give you alot more room!
The Aer Lingus flight attendants are wonderful with children , very helpful.
    Good Luck!!
