BBC3 are holding a special Boosh Night on Saturday (22 March), it kicks off with a live screening of a new documentary in front of a studio audience (I'll be at it, woo) and then six of their favourite episodes. Shall be rather fantastic. All the audience are dressing up too :)

The documentary's brand new so it's pretty much essential viewing for any Boosh fan - get someone to tape it for ya if you're not about! :) I can't wait to see it. They go back to where the recorded the radio series - it's now an organic supermarket, ha

Noice! That's my Saturday filled up now that my cinema trip was cancelled!

Just a reminder, this is on at 21.05.
Noel Fielding and Julian Barratt tell the story behind The Mighty Boosh in their own words. They visit locations key to their past, including the comedy club where they first performed and the studio where the radio show was recorded, which is now an organic supermarket. Featuring interviews with Stewart Lee, Danny Wallace, Lee Mack, Steve Coogan, Russell Brand, Vic Reeves, Bob Mortimer, Jo Whiley, Lenny Henry, Kasabian and The Horrors as well as never before seen photos and home movies from the boys themselves.

Christ, I can't stand Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer... hope they're not in it too much.

Yep. It was very good. A few of the 'celebrity' fan interviews were a bit pointless... but other than that it was a very interesting watch.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,711 ✭✭✭Hrududu

Does anyone else cringe whenever they show fans on this type of thing? I don't know why but none of them are like me or anyone I know. They are always really really cringeworthy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,216 ✭✭✭✭monkeyfudge

The fans in the studio in costume seemed pretty awesome.

The ones lining up to get autographs at the record shop signing looked like a bunch of generic screaming girls who would probably line up for anything.

The 'celebrity' fans seemed to be borderline retarded... but I guess that's B-Grade Pop stars for you.

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

Had to laugh at the guy dressed like Bob Fossil when Bob Fossil arrived. Kudos to the guys who obviously put in a lot of effort. Half the celebraties who were interviewed looked like they didn't even like the Boosh. Jo Whiley seems to love them though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,711 ✭✭✭Hrududu

I didnt see the fans in costume. I only saw the documentary. The fans I was referring to were the ones lined up outside HMV or wherever. They all just seemed like posh schoolkids trying to outnerd each other. There was a good proportion of people like that on the Live DVD too.

I was one of the fans in costume :) You can see me for about one second, I'm dressed as Ultra from the episode Electro. It was an amazing night with an amazing atmosphere - not of that mental embarrassing screaming that went on at the DVD signing, I hate that stuff! The guys were blown away by all the costumes, they were so sweet! I met so many amazing people there, what a night! We watched Old Gregg before the documentary and they gave us creme eggs to eat, ha!

that's a better one of me and my friend as Neon.

You had to apply for tickets on the BBC website - I'm a moderator on the official Boosh forum so we heard about it there pretty quickly! There were over 1000 applications and they gave out 400 tickets and there were 300 seats...! So we were dead lucky.

a bad pic of what the inside of the waiting room was like! (we had to queue outside in the cold first)
