Yeah i picked it up today.Tried messing around with it for a hour or so.I had a lot of difficulty getting into online matches, constantly got a message saying can't connect to server.Pretty annoying. I wasn't overly impressed by the game play,i only played it briefly but it seemed very unpolished compared to COD4. Graphics were pretty **** too i thought, nowhere close to COD or any of the other games that i have.Worse than FEAR for instance IMO.
Singleplayer surprised me by how poor the AI seemed, compared to other recent games like FEAR,HL2 or Uncharted.I dunno, i actually think i might trade it,bring it back and get Oblivion

when i first tried the online for 5mins i got NOTHING, went searching the net and found its a common problem. One poster said to open the ports listed in the manual, there was 2 of them i didnt already have open. It improved it an awful lot tbh, worth a shot!!.

So far..... i've only played the first level and it was pretty dam hard i died a good few times, hate when games start of slow anyway. I'm not too impressed with the online so far, all the maps are kind of crap and it just does'nt seem as good as the last one although i can't see too much differance in the gamplay tbh:confused:. I hate the R3 zoom for your weapon its a terrible process to get used too, also throwing grenades is a stupid button(circle) as you then need your left hand to move the right analoge to alter the aim direction(unless your facing EXACTLY where u wanted to throw it:rolleyes:)

im also having connection problems and i hope ubisoft fix them and as for the single player im happy enough.

I haven't tried the multiplayer yet but I'm having a good time on the single player. I find the enemy AI to be pretty good. They're definitely more agressive than the first game. They more frequently try to flank your position, they make great use of frags and flashbangs, and their snipers are damn good.

I've had some trouble etting online, so I'm gonna leave that alone till I finish the single player game. The graphics are definately very bland compared to COD4, but they are definately not bad. I'm enjoying it.

Great game, 8.5/10, the snipers are damn good and as for their flash bangs, grenades and incendiaries you wouldn't want to stand in one spot too long! They're definitely more aggressive than the first game too

The other thing that annoys me is the map, having to press select each time instead of L2 like the old one, the mini map should be available when you want it too.

I found the graphics to be okay not a giant leap forward from the 1st game, for high def you'd imagine they'd upgrade the graphics big time,
I haven't when online with it which is something I'd love to do but I have a crappy 3G modem so I can forget about online gaming until I get a descent rubber band installed at a higher and constant speed than 3G

Don’t laugh but I’m stuck trying to kill the chopper in Gabriel’s place at the moment!! Any tips??
Are ye all playing it on the PS3?

not lose your connection mid-game?. I think i've finished 1/2 games out of 20+ so far. in the middle of playing it will just bring you back to the main menu with a message saying ''game session no longer available''. Everyone is going nuts about it on the R6 forum!!.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,035 ✭✭✭nedd

well i only played the one game on-line. i need to get some practice in before i go back. the whole scope being the R3 click is pretty annoying from my COD 4 days.

Really need to play this. Have it, just havn't downloaded the latest firmware. Might have a go later but I'm snowed under in college - probably not the best idea.

Well while the online problems persist your probably better off not getting around to playing it.

tried to play this a few times online but i mostly get connection errors to the host .

another thing i find annoying about the online part of the game is when your looking for a game and you can't see your connection quality to the server until you are in the server .

enjoying the single player game but i hope the online side gets fixed up soon , like cod4 was.

I found it to be very similar to the first one. Haven't got in online yet but the single player isn't great. Especially what they used as a "Last boss". Completely boring and stolen from a million other games.

Graphics were reasonable enough but nothing special. Especially not compared to COD 4 as already mentioned.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,093 ✭✭✭TelePaul

I don't imagine the online woes will bother me too much - I had to wait months for COD4 to sort itself.

I'm liking the Split-Screen Co-op... My insubordinate housemate and I (as TL) killin some terrorists... Durka Durka!

I didn't even realise it offered two player co-op. That's gonna be sweet.

And online co-op too though I haven't tried that yet.

Yeah exact same feeling.I felt it was worse than the first and the graphics were cartoony. In the 1st level I only saw 1 shade of red.The same red in blood, in the crosshair, walls etc.!I'd rather spend 10 more hours online with COD4!

I'm really disappointed to hear it went down so bad. Kind of a pity really, wouldn't have hurt to have put more effort into it considering the competition they have with COD4 on the market! Ah well, GTA4 and MGS4 soon! Might even get GT5 for a laugh, although I hate the idea of having the prologue and not the full game! :(

I don't see why people think this game sucks....it's just as good as the original - having played the PC versions, I wasn't expecting anything radically new, the PC expansions were all about new missions and new guns, not new gameplay. It's far more realistic too - acouple of shots and you're dead. Loving it tbh.

I'm actually really enjoying it now too although i thought the first misson was very poor. Haven't tried online yet but enjoying the single player game provided I only spend an hour on it a day.
Graphics are poor for this generation though.

Everyone to their own. Some people love the game and the
    one before it.
I had it for two days brought it back in disgust. I hate to
compare it to COD4 but Infinity Ward have raised the bar
on FPS's immensely and other developers need to step up to
the mark and start bringing out titles which are at least
    in the same league.
I found the graphics very bland and lacking depth and colour.
There is no flow to the main characters movements. I found
    motion was awkward and cumbersome.
However the enemy AI is quite good and I like the cover and shoot,
Definatly a try before you buy

Yeah my jaw still drops when I play COD4 and agree 100% there. I guess for me, RS isn't strictly a FPS...I don't know if you played the originals, but alot of the fun in those was planning exactly HOW you'd enter a room, storm through a door etc etc

Hi, does anyone know where you can get this the cheapest? Thanks

I dunno if you go for trade-ins but I find they're a pretty good alternative to handing over 70 bills. Gamestop will take pretty much any two games and give you a brand new one.

...which is exacly like trading in basically any games in GAME(i got €35-37 for Fight-Night bout 3 mths ago, even though it was out since the start and around the same for MOH-Airbourne.)

    Try http://www.videogamesplus.ca/default.php?cPath=486

Theres a few threads about this place, have'nt used yet because i had about 4 ''€10 Off'' vouchers from GAME and since they ran out i've had crap games i did'nt want to keep after finishing to put towards a new one. All 3 games i have now i want long-term(PES, COD AND R6 V:2) so will be using them for whatever i get next!.

Just wondering if you buy a game of one of these sites and pay before a games release when will it ship?
