    hi,

jus a quick one for anybody who knows, i'm moving to portlaois and gonna be working in dublin so traveling bout 4-500 miles per week would it be worth getting a company car or taking a higher pay rise and buying a diesel car myself. not to sure on the benefit and kind situation and if a company car/van would be the best option?!?!

Without doing the calculations I'd suggest offhand that taking the pay rise might be the better move if it's reasonably large. If you take a company car and use it mostly for private use (commuting is private use) then you'll be paying tax on quite a high percentage of the cars value. That said, perhaps your high personal milage might tilt the value back the other way if the employer is covering all the fuel expenses, etc.

Have a look at the Revenue guide and do some calculations based on the figures you have.
