Was hitting a few balls in Celbridge DR on Monday evening when I noticed that The Golf Studio had taken over the old McGuirk's premises on the ground floor. Had a nose around for a few minutes and noticed the Epon brand of irons on display. Asked the guy working there about the brand and he said it was Japanese forged steel and that his shop were the only ones selling the product in Ireland.

He really didn't know too much more about them save that they were well designed, very strong, etc., before he brought my attention to the Japanese tour bags he had on display. First time I've seen them in a shop in Ireland too I might add.

Had a few minutes spare today so looked up this Epon brand...

    http://www.eponforged.com/

    and

    http://epongolf.co.uk/default/

So, what's the deal with these does anyone know? Are any tour pros using these clubs, and do you know who? I'd say they're on the expensive side.

Not turned on by them but thought I'd check with some of ye here first.

mizuno, taylormade titleist etc mostly have their forging done in japan, there are a number of japanese brands of high quality, epon would be one of the better known brands.

tourspecgolf carry all the japanese own brands andjapan only stuff from main players
