Mac not detecting high capacity 4GB micro SD card

I paid €75 for an 4GB micro SD card today and for some reason OS X isn't detecting it. My PS3 see it fine, my GP2X sees it fine but as far as Leopard is concerned its just not there. I have tried 2 card adapter with my SD cardreader and I have tried using my GP2X in USB mode, nothing works.

Can someone please help me with this? Do I need to download a driver? Please tell me I haven't wasted my money.

Well i have no experience with a 4GB micro SD card. But i have used plenty of 2GB micro SD cards and my mac reads them just fine.
Have you a 2GB micro SD lying around ? -- see does the mac read that.

my suggestion ( could be way off, don't know) restart your computer and see what happens. Last week my mac was not reading my bootcamp drive. A restart cured that.

My mac reads the 2gb mirco SD card from my phone no problem.

I'm using a Hama SD card reader, looks like a USB thumb stick.

Heres the thing, my PS3 sees the card fine when I put it in its card reader but if I plug the Hana USB reader in PS3 can't see it same as the Mac. Its possible the Hama USB reader simply cannot handle 4gb Micro SD cards. Which in itself would be odd as it handles normal 4GB SD cards no problem.

could well be the Hama alright.......the bridge in it might be incompatible with 4gb micro sd cards!
