sorry, not sure if that's the right place but since there's no separate 'tax' forum...

Anyway I would like to know if I can claim money I paid for VHI.
I already claimed expenses for GP(through VHI) but can I claim the money I paid on health insurance itself? Since I changed job I'm paying it all by myself.
Unfortunately the information on the revenue website isn't very clear and even my Irish co-worker wasn't sure ;)

I'd be grateful if someone could shed some light on it.

best advice is to ring the revenue. i rang them yesterday and they were extremely helpful. i think they know the website is useless and people cant make any sense of it!

AFAIK, since 2001 the premium you pay is the relief at source amount so your tax credits have already been applied to it.
