Two men have been arrested in relation to the theft of a number of high-powered motorcycles in Dublin.

The men, aged 25 and 33, will appear at Bridewell Court today.

The thefts took place throughout Dublin city, and the motorcycles were temporarily kept in car parks in north Dublin.

Five motorcycles have been recovered and returned to their owners.

The two men were arrested yesterday as part of Operation Anvil.

Can we castrate them with no anaesthetic? Dirty scum...

Fair play to Anvil for catching them!

Well that's good news. Motorcycle thieves have been getting very cocky lately. A CBR 250 was nicked in work a few weeks back. It was locked/alarmed and less than 30 feet from the Security/Reception desk. Four guys pulled up in a van, lifted the bike into the back and drove off.

Absolute scum, and I hope they get a good long stint away from the world. Having had my bike stolen and then returned I'm delighted that this has happened, and hope more like these are caught.

What typically happens to stolen bikes? After all they can't be sold on without the documentation so is it for parts etc?

Some get stolen, trashed to bits and set on fire... Others end up in parts shop after some joy riding... I read on Biker.ie that a reputable parts shop was caught braking stolen bikes recently...

Interesting, nothing surprises me these days.

When I collected mine it had all the panels, mirros, lights, and everything that made it recognisable torn off, and was being driven around a field by some 'youths' in Coolock. I'm sure they would have kept driving it until they either crashed it or it fell apart!!

Let's refer to them by their proper name.....scum.

Sorry to hear about what they did to your bike. Is it salvageable?

And the little sh!ts want to rub it in our faces. That was recorded in Finglas.

KTRIC, I'm not sure if those bikes are stolen. It would be surprising to see so many stolen bikes in one area during the day. Also, the motorcyclists are wearing full bike gear...not something you see on your average bike thief.

Yeah, hopefully anyway. I believe the engine is in fine working order (it's a pretty sturdy Kawasaki 250) so I just need to get my hands on the digital speedo (which is expensive and has to be a genuine part) and the other bits and pieces. I reckon it'll be over a grand anyway, but I'm just happy I got it back!
