Bluetooth remote battery drain

Just wanted to ask if anyone else is having similar problems to me: the ps3 bluetooth remote has started seriously draining any batteries that go into it. I put in a fresh pair a day or so ago and then went to use it to turn on the ps3 and got no response, put them into something else and found they were dead.

Put in another fresh pair and watched a movie on the console and afterwards (2.5 hours later) found the batteries (According to the icon on the ps3 when you press the ps button) were almost dead again - no bars on the icon.

I don't know what the hell it could be doing in less than 3 hours to completely drain a new pair of (duracell plus) batteries. Anyone else experience this?

Can't say I have experienced this. Still have the same batteries in it since October
