I used Ziphone V.2 on my Iphone bought last week in the California, I paid cash in a AT&T store because the Apple shop wouldn't sell it without a debit or credit card!

    http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=671

    Important:
Down grade the base band to 3.9
For people who get stuck on apple logo.
Try to use: ZiPhone -v -b

    " videos
does anybody know how to get a full lenght film onto the iPhone"

Use Videora Iphone converter, it works a treat and it's free

    Regards,
    Maddog

P.S. I'm using a 02 pay as u go sim and Locate me works fine.

All current iphones are software unlockable upto version 1.1.3

The easiest method is Ziphone http://www.downloadziphone.org/

    The current version is 2.4

There is a MAC and a Windows GUI for 2.4

If using the windows GUI on a 4.6bl phone 1.1.2 or 1.1.3 OTB then select advanced options and deselect bootloader downgrade unless you specifically want to downgrade the bootloader. Downgrading the bootloader is risky so only do it if you are sure and are aware of the risk. You cannot currently downgrade the bootloader on the MAC gui

In General for any phone (except 1.02 that should be virginized first if anything except ipsf was used to unlock it ) remove your apps except BSD and installer make sure that you have latest version of both of these

Then connect to Itunes and let it update you to 1.1.3

Then shutdown itunes and start Ziphone

Select activate ,jailbreak and unlock (unless your phone was unlocked before using IPSF) Ziphone detects your bootloader version and firmware version and uses the appropriate unlock for that phone.

Wait a couple of minutes and thats it.

reinstall BSD and app installer if required.

    Then in stall community sources
    You should also install openssh

Possible problems Youtube not working just install the Youtube activation app

No sound just reset all settings in the settings general menu

No signal after you ran the bootloader downgrade on 4.6 downgrade the baseband and then upgrade it and then use anysim 1.1.3 from the installer

DO NOT USE Ziphone 2.5C to unlock your iphone if your Iphone was 1.1.2 or 1.1.3 or 1.1.4 when you bought it.

IT WILL DOWNGRADE YOUR BOOTLOADER TO A VERSION OF 3.9 that is not reversible

    IT MAY BREAK YOUR PHONE

Alternatives use 2.5c to jailbreak and activate then use 2.4 to unlock in the advanced menu that will leave your bootloader as is

Use Independence if you own a mac

Use Iplus1.2 this will downgrade your bootloader as well however it is reversible unlike Ziphone

Just click on the jpeg - 9 mb download - 2 minutes later - iPhone unlocked

Just to add a ++ to this one.

I bought the iPhone in the US the other day and within 4 minutes had it unlocked with this software. No hassle, no messing, easy peasy.

Just found this dinky video converter - it will convert pretty much anything to mp4 format (the video format used by the iPhone).

I've thrown mpeg2 (DVD) and flv (YouTube) videos at it and they converted without problems. The user interface is a bit quirky, but it gets the job done.

Be sure to turn down the settings (e.g. video resolution, bit rate, etc.) to make the converted file smaller.

I unlocked my 8Gig iPhone two days ago, I now have 12Mb free on it. :D
