The number of jobseekers to visit construction recruitment website, constructionjobs.ie, has increased by a 400% in the past 12 months.

The website had 40,000 jobseekers during the month of February, according to latest figures released by constructionjobs.ie.

Paraic Kelly, director of constructionjobs.ie said: "Much of this is attributed to the recent movement of the construction workforce within the Irish market and further afield including hotspots such as the UK, Mainland Europe, Middle East and Australia."

International jobseekers are growing in tandem with their Irish counterparts. Alongside domestic traffic, 30% of the total job seeker activity is coming from countries outside Ireland.

The top five locations for job applications were Dublin, UK, Cork, Mainland Europe and the Middle East.

Mr Kelly said: "While people are willing to move many are still finding good work opportunities in Ireland."
