I enjoyed that but I was surprised Doyle didn't even bother to plug the free book signing tonight.

    Details please?

In fairness I doubt it was his idea to go signing books, personally I would like nothing less then to write my name a thousand times for a bunch of randomers.

Well if you care to look in the tournie forum a certain Banker has been spamming ;)away

I too doubt it was his idea but its not like he's getting nothing from it and having no one show up would be embarrassing.

Given the crowd out here at Citywest at the moment, it is fair to say the book signing will be busy IMHO...if not, you'll see me up at the desk in front of Doyle a la Comic Book Guy: 'Please sign this book, make it out to ionapaul...and these three, to my friends also known as ionapaul...'

ya, thought that was a bit of a shocker at first... but he's probably right. He was talking about actually winning it, rather than doing well in it. And to win a 700 player event you have to have luck on your side an awful lot.

Yeah, he's not far off for an individual tournament in isolation. The problem was that the presenter just picked up on it as "ALL POKER IS 90% LUCK". Unfortunately amounting to another hurtful piece on poker in the national media.

His scoff about the maths didn't help either. Ho hum.

lol, maths is for losers :p

in fairness, he did point out how different it was on the internet..... you even have some of these young fellas playing 5 tables

In fairness, I think Doyle was adjusting to the presenters questions / comments / air time and in doing so was dumbing down his answers to suit.

It was still 10 times better and more dignified than the interview last year with Laak/Tilly.

Don't get me wrong, I thought Doyle was excellent, still showing great enthusiasm for questions he must have been asked thousands of times before. I got a sense he had a read (so to speak) on the presenter and was adjusting his answers accordingly without leading into the more technical makeup of large tourneys. WP.

    Laak/Tilly - Linkage? Edit don't bother thanks.

You are right to change your mind. It put me on tilt listening to them last year, and I don't tilt easily.

Doyles interview was like putting on a old comfortable pair of slippers, not one mention of pwnage or leveling ....ah I was able to follow his every word....

    Saw Deal, with Burt Reynolds.
Jennifer Tilly is finally beginning to look her age.

What was strange is that while Phil Laak and the Magician were playing themselves, Jennifer was playing someone Karen the Razor or somesh1t.

Awful movie BTW, that lead character is some annoying f*cker.
