Just had the car in for the NCT last week, and failed due to a worn front right ball joint. Anybody know about how much this would cost to replace? Also, whats the going rate for fitting a new brake pad all inclusive? Cheers

You'll have to post what type of car it is, for someone to give you an idea of the amount of work involved..... for example
    1) on an E46 BMW you need to replace the whole lower control arm, which has new ball joint pressed in. Also will need to replace the bush at the rear of the lower control arm.
    2) on an E36 BMW you can press out the all ball joint and press in a new one while still on the car, if you have the correct tool
    3) on a pegueot 306 3 bolts hold the ball joint onto the control arm, so its just a matter of un bolting the old one and bolting on the new one....
