I was out looking for a 1 or a 2 iorn recently and I was told that most of them have been replaced by Hybrid clubs.

I'm looking for something to use between a 3 iorn and a 3 wood (Don't like 5 woods).

Does anyone know who are the best Hybrid club manufacturers and which Hybrid club would suit best (in terms of loft) ??

    Thanks

Like all things in golf it comes down to personal feel with these clubs, you either like the particular one or not. I use a TaylorMade 4 Rescue, it has replaced the 4 iron in my bag (for the moment anyway). It looks & sits well and you do feel confident about hitting the shot. Many of the other brands get good reviews , so it's down to you what you pick.
With regards to distance & loft, if you are looking for a direct replacement for your 5 wood I would say you will prob need a 15 or 16 degree rescue, as your 5 wood is prob 19 degree's but would hit the ball further than a 19 degree rescue (from my experience).

Yep personal preference. 19deg hybrid is like a 2-iron replacement. I replaced my 5-wood with a TM Rescue 19deg. I find it fits nicely between 3-iron and 3-wood. It's great off the fairway and light rough and also from the tee.

Got a 19 degree hybrid in Lidl recently.
Lovely wee club. I broke my 5 wood a while back so this will be a nice replacement!

I bought a RAM FX7 21deg to fill the gap around 3-4 iron as i'm a 20hc and couldnt guarantee good consistency with lower irons . I only bought it cos it was cheap and wouldnt be without it now , brilliant club for high HC. It was 17stg on onlinegolf.co.uk

Sounds like the one for me.
Have TM iorns so it makes sense to keep to the same I suppose.

First post!! - anyone using a 1 iron - if so any recommendations?. Most people say to go for the hyvrids but I hit the 3 iron fairly well and have not have had much joy with the hybrid!

I have a 18 deg Wilson hybird bought it second hand in maguirks for 12 euros and its brilliant if I were you i would get a cheap one and see if you can hit it correctly no point in spendint 100 euros on it if you cant hit it, hit it like you would hit a 7 iron noce and smooth and the ball goes if you try to lash it it tends to do some daisy cutting good clubs to have in your bag tho as may fine 2 irons and 5 woods very inconsistant

    Cleveland Hi-Bore 2i.
Outstanding club (if a little pricey).
    I don't think I'll ever use my 3-wood again!

Picked up the new XLS version of that club today Obni for €149 in McGuirk's. Hit a few balls in the afternoon with it, but 'twas off mats so we'll see how she goes in the morning. Really like the look of the club at address.
