    Hi All

Im going to book my holidays tomorrow to Playa De Ingles (Green Field apartments unless yous can suggest otherwise) at the end of April just wondering could people give me some feedback on what to expect.....Will it be busy at this time of year? Will the weather be nice? Even any hints or tips about the area in general would be great.

    Thanks

was there this time last month. it was busy enough, weather was hot - about 22 degrees give or take most days, but felt warmer than irish 22 degrees if ya get me.. we stayed in green fields which is in the irish centre beside green park and green garden, most of the irish centre pubs were closed or very quiet at this time but you can walk down to the caspa which is a bit busier... the whole of playa del ingles can be a bit dodgey at times tho - lots of drugs, prostitutes, lucky luckys trying to sell you stuff... altho if you have your wits about you ya should be ok, the locals despise the irish so dont expect them to be friendly at all, the food is muck and the place is not that cheap either... about 4 or 5 euros for a beer but they seem to give you two at a time to make you stay longer.. over all i had a good laugh for february mainly due to the group i was with but i wouldnt go back in peak season when other countries were nice and warm too and in fact, i dont think even in feb. i wouldnt be rushing back over to be honest! u will still have fun tho, sun and palm tress is always better than pissy ireland imo

i think, as with most destinations, it depends on what you're looking for. My boyfriend and I went to Playa de Ingles last september for two weeks. We did walk around a bit at night and have to say, we didn't see any prostitutes or drugs, altho quite a few street sellers, but mostly they left us alone if we said no thanks. We hired a car for ten days of our trip and explored the island, so we didn't get bored. But that's what we like to do, rather than sit in the sun every day. Greenfields is in the centre of the Irish centre and personally I wouldn't stay there for love nor money, but that's because I prefer not to be surrounded by night clubs when I'm trying to get my 8 hours :P I dunno how noisy it'll be at this time of year tho :| I went to Tenerife a couple of years ago in April and it was busy enough, and the weather was about 24 degress everday :)
we found the locals to be very friendly, but that's mainly cos we went outside the resort area, food is much nicer if you go to other places as well, very mass produced type food in the resorts. A really nice restaurant just north of Playa de Ingles in La Cabanita, near Palmitos Park, cost us bout 4 euro to get there in a taxi. Service and food was superb!!
