New Stuff Arrived - I Have To Compliment All Three Vendors

We ordered the following, all on different days:

Olympus E-410 2-lens kit from komplett.ie (€563 incl shipping, 5 working days to arrive. The manual is in German, but I've printed the English one from the Oly website).

Tamrac Adventure 6 camera backpack from picstop.co.uk (€63 including shipping, 2 working days to arrive).

Sandisk Extreme III 4GB CF card from mymemory.co.uk (€33 including shipping, around 8 working days to arrive).

They all arrived yesterday afternoon. 3 different vendors, 3 different carriers, 3 different order dates. Talk about coincidence!

We reckon that it's an omen that we did the right thing spending a relatively big chunk of cash on leisure stuff - it was meant to happen and we'll get great pleasure from our new camera.

All three vendors were hassle-free to deal with and IMO, the prices we paid are damn good.

GLS (the carrier used by komplett.ie and on whom I'd read some negative comments) were just fine - the camera hadn't arrived within the 3-4 working days quoted on the komplett website, so on the 5th day (yesterday) I rang them with the tracking number from komplett's dispatch confirmation e-mail and was told it'd be delivered that afternoon and it was.

    Anyway, all three vendors recommended.

www.mymemory.co.uk is the only place I'll go for memory. They have great prices and actually ship to Ireland :P

I got a few Lowepro bags from them as well and they're always easy to deal with... odd though that it took 8 days to get your memory. I usually get mine in 4-5...

My wife's been ringing me all morning asking questions and telling me new stuff that she's discovering about the camera.

Not one for reading manuals, she'll get more familiar with by hands-on playing than I would with my nerdy "let's read the manual" approach.

I'm not proud, so I'm not ashamed to say that she's the one who's taken the vast majority of photos that we'd consider good ones. I get the odd one by accident.

I'd say she'll be out on the street all day taking candid shots of our kids playing. Or walking down by the beach taking landscapes.

I'll probably get home to find them not even fed . . . ;):p
