im sure there are lots more people skulking around boards who will be much more enlightened on this than me, but..... :)

for quite sometime i have been harbouring doubts about the numbers you get in quickpicks, more often than not i find that im getting tickets where im getting 2 or 3 numbers that appear in multiple lines on the ticket. Am i just imagining this or are others seeing the same thing?

im sure the laws of probability (which often elude me) can explain this but part of me also wonders what are the chances that the random number generator used in the irish lotto its slightly fecked and not really always so random?

My understanding is that they are not random. They are the six least selected numbers for the coming draw. This explains why you would get the same ones more than once.

Computers can't do random. They can do a pretty good job at imitating it though.

There's no such thing as a "random number generator", there can't be because the numbers are generated based on an algorithm.
