Feel a starnge sense of anxiety around mountains and barren sea....not a beach per se...not rivers....but sea, cliffs and mountains..heights..evoke a sense of dizziness as though I'm going to fall...however irrational they do something to me.

Don't know if I'll ever be able to flying again either...

Does this happen in mountain regions? Say, if you were in the alps etc or just coastlines?

And what is it that makes you afraid of flying.... is it being up so high and looking out of the window?

Primarily coastline's....but looking at or from a height seems to prvoke some reaction within me..in the past even bridges..know it's irrational....I suppose innately a fear of falling ....and actualy feel a slight dizzy sensation in those situations....which in turn provokes panic and a vicous cycle....

I know the bridge one is very common but I haven't seen anything about people being specifically afraid of cliffs. I suppose it comes down to a fear of heights. Are you afraid of tall buildings etc?

I know one of the links in the stickys at the top of the page had info on overcoming fear of bridges. This could be of help to you, if you find it's hindering your every day life!

Yeah it's all a part of a fear of heights...looking up at or down from...it's all heights...tall buildings yes...though they would have to be very tall...not 3 or 4 storeys! cliffs are high...surrounding ocean just exacerbates any sense of isolation. It dosen't interfere on a day to day basis....but if I want to travel....which I do...it causes problems!

As I child even small hills would unsettle me.
