    Hey,

I'm a 22 year old guy, broke up with my last girlfriend a few months ago when she left Ireland to study. Havn't met anyone since and i'm a bit bored of the whole 'picking up girls on nights out' thing. My job doesn't really allow me to meet many women close to my age so was thinking of using a dating site, just for something different. Wondering if anyone has used any of these sites and how their experiences have been?

Go for it, Their great craic. Met my current girlfriend on one.

Put a bit of effort into your profile and you'll get more hits. I didn't have a photo up but had one to show if they asked. I'd recommend www.plentyoffish.com - free, easy to use and worked for me!

Definitely agree there with nomad, use plenty of fish, be sound and not a freak and suss out the girls and you'll meet some lovely girls. It does take a daily check and effort and have aphoto to show. If you get on with them, ask to meet them after a week say, don't spend a month chatting as its about meeting, not chatting on the net.
    Best of luck!
P.S. Probably friends/colleaguese etc are using it anyways and its totally socially acceptable.

A million or so other people have asked this same question. Search and you will find.

Just checked it out now...still a bit uncomfortable with the whole idea but sure I'll give it a shot anyway. Any other site reccommendations welcome..

Relax man, everyone is at it. I found putting something a bit quirky on it got a lot more hits, something like your secret ambition is to..... own an ostrich farm... something completly random. Makes them laugh and then they'll e mail you wondering why and you can go from there. Nothing worse than a profile saying the same as everyone elses - I like football and going out to pubs - shows no imagination.
