Testing a bike ?

    Hey,

I put together a single speed bike. As I was cycling in this morning, waiting for the wheel to fall off, I figured there must be a better way of testing the bike other than human experimentation.

The rear wheel is on a horizontal, forward facing, dropout with steel skewers and an enclosed cam QR lever. I ground down the axle so it's not out of the dropouts and removed all the paint around the dropouts. I tightened it as hard as I could, according to Sheldon it will hold. So is there a good way of testing how secure the wheel is, other than finding a steep hill and grinding my way up it?

    Cheers,
    Gav
