There is an entry for this on IMDB, has been for months, but hard to find
any more info on it , I for one think it couldn't be as good as the 1986 remake ..
    but we will see...

Oh i'll be going to see it. What these movies accomplish is to show just how great the original actually was.

I didn't mind "The Fly 2" either. Both of them are pretty good Sci-Fi movies.

    This sucks

Ruining another classic just like Charlie & the Chocolate Factory

The Burton adaptation of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was an excellent film imo and closer to the book in some ways than the Mel Stuart adaptation. In any case, it's a different adaptation of the book, not a remake of the "Willy wonka & the chocolate factory" film.

Now the "Planet of the Apes" remake on the other hand: that sucked.

Ruining another film just like John Carpenter ruined The Thing.

    Oh, wait!

Isnt The Fly (1980s) a remake of an older film anyway ? Theres plenty of crap remakes but there are also lots of classic ones. Dawn of the Dead & The Thing spring to mind.

Do you mean the recent dawn of the dead remake?
Shouldnt have been called Dawn of the Dead. The Zombies were too fast dammit.
Diary of the dead will kick dawn of the dead's ass.
Cos it has the power of introspection that you get from reading a diary that you just dont get when waking up at dawn.

Even if its a great big pile of monkey crap ..
(im not a betting man but id put my money on that) ..
the 1986 remake is still there .. untouched ..

    it can't "ruin" it !!

How is this 2008 when imdb haven't listed a producer, director, or cast? I like The Fly but not one of my all-time favourites, so I won't be too devestated if it's disappointing.

I can't watch the original Wicker Man without breaking out into tears of laughter thinking about the remake.
