Flash drive not working

    Hi,

I bought a new 2GB pen/flash USB drive recently and copied all my personal files onto it. None too important except for my house plans, which I urgently need... When trying to access one of the files yesterday, the contents of the drive seem to have disappeared and been replaced with unrecognised symbols (see attached image)

The wierd thing is that I successfully copied a file from my Pc to the drive today, so it appears that the device is working, just that the older data is corrupt.

Any ideas on what might wrong or does anyone know of any software I can buy or download that might repair this?

    Thanks in advance

.......even the name of a company who might be able to salvage the drawings?

Particularly as the drive now appears to be working for new files, it's just the old ones that appear to be corrupt.

    THANKS

This is corruption of the storage on the key. If you have tried the basic tools to recover data and they have not worked, any further recovery is going to be very costly.
You seriously need stop using this for data. It will fail again.

had a similar problem 2 months back, once i filled up more than a quarter of the flash drive, the files weren't being written properly

don't think there is anything much you can do, do you have the files saved elsewhere or does autocad make automatic backups anywhere

if you deleted files off your pc you could try this program to undelete http://undelete-plus.com/
