Gees, that's young! Haven't seen much of his work but there's no doubting he was a talented director.

Well I'll say one thing for the guy, after seeing 3 of his films I think I can imagine the pain his family are going thru right now.

His last work is screened on BBC this weekend - The No 1 Ladies' Detective Agency.

Very talented filmmaker. Any word on how he died?

EDIT: Never mind. Seems he had some kind of haemorrhage after being treated for cancer.

    Rest in peace.

To be honest, I think a large amount of his work was a tad overrated.

But I still think 'The Talented Mr Ripley' is an absolutely fantastic film.

Another sad loss. I met him when The English Patient was released. He gave a talk and Q&A to my college class. Seemed like a decent skin.

Never was a fan of his, but always sad to see a well known film-maker pass away.

Talented Mr. Ripley is one of my favourite movies.

Cant say I was a fan of his other stuff but he was clearly very talented and brought a lot of joy to a lot of people.

    RIP.

There was a nice piece about Minghella on newstalk last night. It gave a good insight into the diversity of his talent.
