Feel free to move this to legal if necessary...

Out of curiosity more than anything:

I'm building a website at present for a college assignment. At the moment I'm hosting it on my own server but as part of the grade I have to FTP it to the college's one, where it'll stay and be accessible to the public. It has some photographic images of mine on it.

As per (I think?) all colleges, the work will then belong to the college. As far as I know that's standard practice, and I don't think mine has ever invoked it. I'm wondering though- the images that I'm putting on it - am I giving them the right to use them in an other way than on the site itself? I've asked, and didn't really get a clear answer..

Its not exactly the answer you are looking for, but I did a project in college that involved research and study into an old church. Measured and draw etc, we included with the forword that the work was our property and couldn't be reused with premission, as it was likely that the project could be used commercially, the lecturers told us to do it, so I imagine that the work can your property and the college then has permission for limited use
