Bethlehems there in Ballybrit. They have some nice food and generally they're pretty quite, if you wait until after 6:30/7:00.

Go for Gai Fai Dang (number 33 on the menu). If you like it reallllllllllly spicy, ask them for it 'five star'. Seriously.
    Mild is 1 star
    Medium is 2 star.
    Hot is 3 star.

I told my server that I would like it very very very very hot and she said to increase the star rating when asking. So I went for 4 star. Three weeks later I was asking for 5 star and it was amazing. I had to remove my shoes I was so hot. I was sniffing like crazy. I can't wait for the next time.

Mind you, the missus will be sending me to the spare room :o

I can't believe you think the food is good there ? I think It's nearly as bad as Cactus Jacks (Worst Restaurant in Galway IMO) and the staff are just as bad too.
Takes you longer to pay your bill than it does to wait for the food :)

    Check out menupages.ie

It doesn't have all the restaurants on it but it does have a good few.

I've never been to the Clayton for dinner but I've had lunch there more than once (proximity to work) and it was muck with slow service.

    Sorry if it's too late!

people i know are always visiting galway and want to know where the best place to eat is.
i tell them Cookes everytime and no has any complaints. id say i have recommended it to 6 or 7 people at this stage. they are very consistent.

I think the nicest food i've had in Galway has to be upstairs in McSwiggans. Savage!!!

+1 The food there is fantastic but the menu is getting old at this stage.
Still you can't beat that cajun peppered steak mmmmmmmmm

I still think the Clayton sucks (you must all work there lol)

    Back to the OP.
    The Clayton:
is not too busy - no big stairs to climb - plenty of space
has a Good Variety on Menu
    is Located in Doughiska

I don't like Bethlehem at all (Don't like Pasta which I hear is good there)
Thai Garden is cheap and cheerful - eat there a lot on work nights out. Know all about the spare room too..........
McSwiggans is good but not as good as it was about 8 years ago
Cookes is nice but I wasn't to gone on the Menu and thought it was a bit expensive for what I got. I felt the place was to small.
Cactus Jacks is the biggest let down ever. So disappointed with it.
