How would people feel about going to the cinema together. It would be an alternative to the usual Boards Beers.

    Opinions, plz. KTHNXBAI!

    And so on.

Will we have the buttseckz before or after the film?

Interesting idea... the cinema, not the buttsex...

I've recently developed a technique for group seating at a cinema. I call it the Lars O. Wicknem method part IV(tm). You wait until precisely 5 minutes after the film has started then proceed to enter the cinema with your accomplises and sit not in a row but in a column, one in front of the other. Works best if the first member in goes to the seat closest to screen and each subsequent member fills the seat directly behind them. Passing of popcorn, sweets or drinks is not only permitted but is actively encouraged. Queue mass bemusement.

As long as it's a flick that goes well with some whiskey in my cup, I'm down.

No buttsex tho, don't know y'all well enough yet. I'll hold out until at least the 3rd date and a nice dinner (no SuperMacs!)

I always thought you'd put out at the drop of a hat!

What about Boards Bowling, something a little more sociable than just sitting near each other in the dark

Sounds really creepy when you put it like that. Bowling would be good alright

    +1

I'm not really part of any "community" on boards.ie, but I thought it would be an interesting way to spend an evening...

I wholeheartedly support this idea! What film do ye have in mind? The Cottage? Something violent. Preferably!

Bowling only if I can have the side guttery thingys up!!

    Ah no. Not movies.

We'd all sit in the dark watching a movie.

Actually not a bad idea if there was a beers after.

That way, if your stuck for soemthing to say, you can discuss the movie.

Kinda've like a date then, except you're dating more than one person at a time! :D

I think cinema combined with the option with beers after is the best option.

Its the law. The stupid, stupid law.

I dunno if I even want to drink tomorrow evening, I just felt compelled to go out and buy a 6 pack just in case.

If anyone is desperate for booze tomorrow I may be selling cans of Prazsky for €4,500 a pop.

    we should bowl.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 330 ✭✭tristanc

I think Good Friday is a ploy to sell more liquor than one ever drinks by instilling fear of deprivation. It def worked on me.

Next Friday, the 28th, boards cinema or boards bowling? That gives a week to argue cinema vs bowling and, if it's the former, argue about which movie to see.

I highly doubt we could motivate people much before then if we tried ;)

This appears to have failed to gain traction for tomorrow ;) New movies opening tomorrow ("27 Dresses" "Drillbit Taylor") look to be **** anyway. There's still bowling, though leisureworld at least is **** all more expensive on Fridays the weekend than midweek.
