    Hi everyone,

I'm almost finished my third round of Depo at the moment, and I'm wondering if I should go back on it. This was my third cycle of Depo, so I've been on it for almost nine months now. The first six months were great - no periods or spotting at all. But I've had continuous light bleeding for the last three months, and it's darn annoying.

Has anyone else ever experienced this change? I'm a bit wary of getting a fourth round, if this could keep happening... The reason I switched to Depo was because the pill that I was on was making the same thing happen - continual spotting...

Has anyone else been on Depo and had it change the effects like that? If so, did it reverse itself, or should I be looking for a different method of contraception?

    Thanking you all in advance.

I was on Depo for 2 years. Had no problems on it. No period what so ever.

My doctor recommended i come off it. That was 8 years ago though. Said it was not recommended for long term use.

I would recommend you discuss changing contraceptive with your doc. He's the only person who can really tell you whats what.

    Best of luck!

I would go back to your doctor. While others experience may strike some as helpful, we are drifting towards the medical advice arena. As I say effects like this should be looked into medically. See your doctor.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.
