    Hello all,

Can I Raid0 two sets of two drives (4 drives in total) and then Raid5 those 4 (turned into 2 drives) with another drive (5 drives in total, windows would only see three)??

I need to do this because i have 5 1Tb drives and cant get them to Raid5 because of the 2Tb limit in windows. I have tried GPT and cant get it to work.

So would it be possible to do this and if so what could the problems be?

    Thanks.

gpt only supported win2k3 sp2 (or maybe XP SP2 64bit.. but not sure on that one)

the volume type (mbr or gpt) is independent of the raid type that is underneath.

raid 0 mixed with raid 5 is raid 10 .. which is not what you are trying to do I think..

what are you using to create the raid arrays ??

Raid 5 of 5 1TB drives will give you 4TB usable on top of which you can create a 4TB gpt or 2 x 2TB mbr volumes
