Replacement passport on a Sunday?

    I'm a paranoid person who believes everything that can go wrong will go wrong.

    I'm due to fly back from Europe to Ireland on a Saturday. I'm due to fly from Ireland to America on the Sunday.

    Obviously I need my passport for both trips.

    What happens if I lose my passport some time on the trip to Europe? Is there anyway to get a replacement one with such short notice, in Ireland, at the weekend?

    Yes! Dept. of Foreign Affairs on St Stephens Green will provide emergency passports. You'll need a signed form from the Gardai, a copy of your birth cert & E100.

    Yep!

    My lady love has been there on a Sunday morning - following a two in the morning desperation phone call to the dept of Foreign Affairs after tearing the house apart looking for a lost pasport.

    They issue a one year passport that causes you loads of grief at foreign passport control, but it is a hell of a lot better than not having any passport!
