Will be relocating for a short time to a place near Balrothery and will be commuting in the morning to the city centre. Does anyone here get the 101 Drogheda-Busaras bus? As far as I can see it's the only form of public transport to the centre of town, am I right?
It says on Bus Eireann website that it takes 55 mins from Balrothery Bridge to Busaras but surely it will take a lot more time in rush hour traffic!
Any info would help a lot. :)

There is also the Dublin Bus 33 that goes from Balbriggan via Skerries to Dublin, not via Balrothery.

I suspect the 101 goes via the Port Tunnel.

No, the 101 doesn't use the tunnel as it has pick up and set down stops in Drumcondra & Santry.

Is commuting to Balbriggan or Skerries for the train an option?

Balbriggan train station is about 15-20mins walk from Balrothery village and I'd recommend that at least to better predict tavel times, takes 35-40 mins.

Avoid Dublin Bus #33 (you can get this from outside St. Peter and Paul's church car park). It takes 90mins from Swords to Balbriggan on the 33 during rush hour.

Bus Éireann 101 takes roughly 20 mins to Swords, 25 mins to Airport and 50/60mins to O'Connell St depending on traffic. You can get the 101 from the Balrothery Inn or near Balbriggan Golf Club on the main Dublin road, it doesn't go through the village.

Does the 101 stop anywhere near the Mater hospital for pick-ups?

It would seem not. I suspect they mostly use the port tunnel. Your options would appear to be to go to Busáras or Dublin Airport.

If it is of any use, Matthews operate from Parnell Street and Drumcondra Station. http://matthews.ie/images/pdfs/02-bettystown-timetable.pdf
