    Hey people,

I'm a bit amazed that nobody mentioned these amps, seeing the popular cult for Microcubes and the like. Small, affordable valve amps by a Crate spin-off. I´m seriously looking at the the 5W combo:

    Any experiences with this stuff?

Havent had any personal experience, but on another forum I use people who have bought them praise them and judging by clips they are pretty sweet too.

Plus, they are easy to mod ;)

Sounds suspiciously like Harmony Central to me too. Don't be ashamed though. We all visit it from time to time.

I'm really interested in Blackheart's stuff too. The Killer Ant and the Little Giant seem great for the price. I doubt you can really go wrong.

The Killer Ant in particular looks like a great alternative to the Orange Tiny Terror as a practice amp, albeit with a significantly lower wattage. I might just give it a go as a night time rig.

I'm a regular over at HCBF, not ashamed of it though. It's a great board. :)

But yeah, I've noticed that the Blackheart amps are being talked about a lot on the guitar forum. They look interesting...

HC Reviews speak wonders of these things, although the number of reviews hasn't reached the critical mass I'd appreciate:

So no boarder has tried these things yet?

Would a 5watt combo like the Blackheart Little Giant be loud enough to play small venues un-miked? My drummer is very laid back and not too loud, a 5 watt valve amp should be loud enough not to be drowned out (even semi-clean), so that should be enough, right? I'm looking for a low-watt valve amp and I'm seriously tempted by the Blackheart, but I'm wondering whether I'd need the Handsome Devil (15 watt). Any thoughts?

    And I'm talking blues/bluesrock, not metal :D

I've got a little giant combo. it's a nice amp, takes pedals well, very trebley, I had to turn my treble almost to min. Nice warm clean tones and breaks up nicely.
