    Ag iarraidh is looking for

Ar iarraidh is attempting or trying

    Am I right on this?

I also hear a word like rack for arguement - how is this properly spelt?

    Ag iarraidh means 'asking/trying/seeking to'

    Ar iarraidh means 'missing'
