Installer missing after Jailbreak

I got a new iTouch yesterday (1.1.4) and set about jailbreaking it tonight using ziphone 2.6b.

Ziphone says that the installer application will be automatically installed, but it doesn't seem to have. I tried twice and both time the link to ziphones blog appears but neither time the installer does....

Any one have any ideas of what i am doing wrong or is it a glitch?

    No installer = no jailbreak!

You are better off at 1.1.3 for the touch - a lot of apps are broken on 1.1.4
I laster about a day with 1.1.4 before I went to 1.1.3 and now stuff just works!

What size touch do you have?

I've been reading up about jailbreaking mine (32Gb - 1.1.3 with Jan apps) over the past few days. ZiPhone seems handy and the latest version claims to support 32Gb models but I'm told that it downgrades the boot loader. I don't wanna do that as it can't be undone AFAIK. If I ever needed anything from Apple that would prove I've messed with it.

Was looking at this guide as an alternate but it seems quite long winded. Anyone got any advice?

Just looking at Ipodtouchfans.com and there are a few links but maybe try this one

Now for my own query: I have a jailbroken 1.1.1 itouch. Whats the best way to upgrade the firmware to a jailbroken 1.1.3 or even 1.1.4? Would the ziphone method work for me?

    no.

Hmm, what can you do with it then?

It doesn't change any of the codecs. You can install apps that do a variety of things. For example I have:

    - custom themes
    - MXTube: downloads youtube videos to that Touch so you can watch them offline
    - MobileScrobbler: scrobbles the tracks I play to last.fm, very handy
    - TuneWiki: real time lyrics for songs, ideal for nitelink karaoke.

AFAIK you restore it to 1.1.4 and then jailbreak with ZiPhone. Note that ZiPhone may downgrade the bootloader which could be a red flag if you ever need it fixed by Apple. I decided to go ahead anyway. This guide is quite good, you should use the latest version of ZiPhone though.
