Multiple internalframes/panels in one JFrame

I have a problem i am developing a small app I have a JFrame in that JFrame i want either two JPanels or two JInternalFrames each doing something different. I have to put an internalFrame into a JFrame but it it's the same size as my JFrame and when i try to use a JPanel into does not appear in my frame
