Hello. Can anybody help me out here.. Last week in the Star newspaper I believe there was a ad for a company looking for Plumbers/Elec to work in Norway. I have bought this weekends Star and there is no ad in it. I am not sure which days paper the ad was in but I am told it was in it a couple of times during the week.

Can anyone have a look around for some of last weeks star news paper and try and find the ad and its details. I would greatly appreciate it.

    Many Thanks! Panner.

Hey man, my brother lives in Oslo, if you want I can ask him to check it out from that end? I've been there a few times and it's an amazing place, it's a little more expensive than Dublin but the wages are pretty damned good :D

who publishes the Star newspaper? becuase you can go to their offices and buy previous days papers. i used to have to buy old copies of the irish independent and irish times for my old boss. i used to go to their head office in town and ask for what ever days papers he needed and they would have them there. you just paid the normal price. i presume it should be the same for the star.

Nice one. Thanks that would be great. I hear they have a shortage of trades people over there and I am interested in finding out more details. The construction industry is on its last legs here. Have you any of last weeks daily stars knocking round?!
    Cheers.

Didn't see the ad but think I know a few people working as electricians & probably for that company..As far as I know you work 2 weeks & then have 2 weeks off & the company will pay for your flight home -or anywhere else you want to go...i think they recruit from a dublin or Wicklow office...aaahhh, cant remember the name, sorry..

I have looked up work in Norway and noticed a company called Manpower
would that be the company name? They dont give much details. I would like to know if other companys are hiring also.

Manpower is a recruitment agency who on occasion also do the hire and rent out set up. The reason why they would fly you home is simply due to how bloody expensive Norway (and esp. Oslo!) is (it makes Dublin look cheap, i.e. 10+ euro for a McD burger menu etc.).

Its called Randridge - thats the name of the comp' that I know of a few people working with as electricians in Norway..their webiste is under construction, but there is a tel no..

I saw the add but it was FAS i think and it was the agency Randridge I think

sorry I didn't hold onto info

Norway is not part of EU so you may need work visa or similar I think

If the work is two weeks on two weeks off its probably oil rig work which Norway has lots of oil and lots of rigs and lots of money for only 4 million people to spend it on so they are truly stinking rich not like the dead alley cat  dressed up as a Tiger economy Irish state with the b***S*** Ireland is second richest in the world my A**

A beer in Norway is like 20 euros

Lots of agencies will probably look for workers like Addecoo manpower etc but the rates will be less than if you get the work direct

Usually your better off to go direct to the places like Oslo and scrounge around for the jobs and keep an ear for work in next door Sweden which is EU and you can work there probably no issues and you can buy a decent wood log cabin house in Sweden in the stick ville for less than 50.000 Euros ( nearest shop 30 miles and nearest neighbor 20 miles away big outback country full of Christmas trees ) and Noway is similar empty place but costs big sponduliks

If they ship you out for two weeks probably best to opt to hang out Sweden for the two weeks and maybe pick up nixer's there and get in with their social welfare system which pays 60% of the income when your unemployed

Also there is a Noway Embassy in Dublin might be worth looking their site or getting info from them but embassies tend to keep crap opening hours to the public typically open 10am close 1pm

Norway and Sweden speak difficult lingo but it seems they all know to speak English and probably beats being a paddy in the UK but its probably going to be difficult without serious cash or a job lined up to get in on that act as half of eastern Europe has already beaten us to get there while we were whiling away the time mesmerized with the alley cat doing its antics while it was fleecing us

    Derry

Why don't you just contact Manpower, the recruitment agency that were advertising it. They may have more details than us. Good luck!

Its to refresh everyone's memory. Maybe I could find some leads for work abroad.

Has anyone came across any information?
