    Hey all,

there's a group of us(3 couples and couple of singles) planning 5 nights away in the middle of september but we're a bit of a mixed bag so trying to decided where is proving a nightmare,

in a nutshell we're lookin for somewhere a city that has nice weather, bit of history, good to go out in and if possible a beach. few of us have been to barcelona so thats out but something along that line would be great.

    Any suggestions would be great.

    Thanks a mill in advance

Oktoberfest in Munich starts in September. No beach but lovely parks to sunbathe beside the river. Needn't wear clothes either if one feels like it!

Lisbon? We went there in October and the weather was still great. Get the train to Cascais if you want to go to the beach. Spectacular city and great places to go out.

    Amsterdam!

Everything is legal there, from prostitution to drugs! :D

And also full of history and good people.

My first thought was Barcelona alright. Great spot. Seeing as that's out maybe go Rome? Really romantic for the couples and loads of hotties for the singles!

    Whatever you do, avoid Belgium.

Stockholm is a good spot but I am not 100% sure about the weather in September, I do know that it gets very hot there in the summer and they have a few beaches too. The pubs and clubs are really good (tad expensive) plus the locals are drop dead gorgeous (for the single people in your group). Lots of museums and nice buildings also.

    What about Dubrovnik, Croatia?

Its got the history - was part of the Roman / Austrian/ Yugoslav empires. Has music and arts festivals. And of course its got the weather, islands and beaches, as its on the Adriatic coast. Aer Lingus fly there from Dublin.

But probably someone who has been there, can comment on the place better than I.

I agree with Valencia. Lovely beach near the city, clubs open 'til 10am and plenty to do during the day.

That place would keep you occupied for a full day.
