IE Running at Dial Up Speed

I've had this problem for about 2 years now but I'd given up looking for a solution 1 year & 11 months ago when I found Firefox.

Anyway I have an Eircom 2MB connection & my IE still runs slower than dial up speeds. I have disabled phishing, deleted cache, rolled back to IE6, reinstalled IE7, checked firewall but still no joy.

It's not bothered me as Firefox runs like lightening & I only need IE for a couple of applications which are needed so rarely that I can suffer the 60 second wait for a page to load. I've asked in other forums & although I've found many people with the same problem nobody has yet found the solution.

Does it make any difference if you use an ip address? Have you tried IEtab for ff?

Tried the IP address suggestion & the page loaded instantly.
What does that tell us ?.

I wasn't aware there was an IE Tab add on for firefox.
I must give that a shot later.

    DNS issue is my guess.

    Yes, it's a useful extension.
