Anyone tried the third and final expansion to DOW Soulstorm yet. Was released last week but no ones mentioned it here.

Secondly PC gamer are advertising in their current issue a new game they have exclusive details in their next issue. There is a picture of an outline of a terminator space marine with the caption "ready for a new dawn"....and its almost 100% certain to be DOW 2.

After all relic promised us 2 DOW games in 2008 so it would seem to make sense. Hopefully at the least its using the COH engine...or perhaps they have developed something newer for it?

Didn't realize this was out, the reviews on it seem poor. Might buy it anyways as I really liked the series so far.

Anyone have it and care to let us know what it's like? Is the new campaign with planets and supply lines really as poor as people are saying?

    Ditto on both points.

Well i downloaded the demo which is available for free and i would only advise buying the game if u are an avid DOW fan but in my opinion it is a glorified Patch which sets u back 40 euro for two new factions and a few more additional units - my rating would be 4/10

    only 30euro in most shops..

I got it .seems pretty decent and you will need it to play DOW online now as most people have migrated from DC

I got a copy of it.

It's worth the 30 quid for the new campaign style (full 9 races, meta campaign with 4 or 5 planets nstead of 1).

The new races are interesting. Dark Eldar are a bit cartoony like Chaos (an angle I have always hated. sisters of battle are close combat madness, just flamers everywhere, hilarious versus orks to see one squad of sisters take down a 17 ork squad in seconds.

Should add a small bit of life for online play too, with new maps and stuff.

It's worth 30 quid if you have the other expansion, definitely a better expansion than the disgrace that was Winter Assault, why oh why are the imperial guard so crap :P

Regards DOW 2, I'd be happy if they use the COH engine, which is DirectX10 and has really nice physics, but I'd be way more excited about COH2 than DOW2. COH is the best RTS I've ever played online, perfect game really. Well done THQ.

Finally got around to playing it. If you enjoyed the Dark Crusade single player campaign (I thought it was ok, personally, nothing special), then you'll enjoy this.

Sisters of Battle are fun though. Fire, cleanses...

The news is slowly leaking out, DoW2 is heading for a 2009 release date.

It'll be using the Essence 2.0 engine (or an updated one) and is said to look quiet shiney.

    There's a DOW2 preview here

I'm really liking the sound of this game. It looks like they are trying to bring some rpg elements into the game - adding the kind of depth you would be more likely to see in turn-based tactical/strategy games.
The plan is to give gamers "long term goals" and a "steady stream of rewards". Ebbert says that gamers have a lack of attachment to RTS characters, and that has to change.

This is something I really like. Squads will persist through missions. Its kind a throwback to the X-Com series in that way, with each guy being equiped with items.

    Another few snippets of info.

Apparently the campaigns will be non-linear for one. I like Relic.

    Also, some gameplay footage
