I posted this in the Cheltenham day three thread but decided that he is worthy of his own thread. Opinions please?

It certainly was. I had planned on nipping out to watch him but people started throwng work at me and only got to hear it on the radio. Watched it on tv later on and was very impressed. Had him in a double with Inglis Drever (my festival banker - don't think I've ever been as nervous watching a race).

    The obvious question is....

This thing is only a baby so there's plenty of scope for improvement (scary thought for anyone who doesn't have him in their stable). So can he make the step up from two miles to three and a bit for the Gold Cup? Maybe not next year, but possibly 2010? Does Nicholls have this race wrapped up for next few years? I know that's more than one question but I'm still pissed from Thursday.

i dont think a horse with that much speed can truly see out the gold cup trip, he would probably outclass most of em but something would outstay him

He ran yesterday but no-one here spotted it as far as I can tell, and yes he won. So dunno about keepinmg him wrapped in cotton wool. Prolly a good idea to keep an eye out of him.

Just watched a replay for about the 10th time. That was the best performance I've seen in my time following jumps racing. Phenomenal horse. And for one who had jumping problems last year, he barely touched a twig the whole way around. No reason not to keep him at 2 miles next season but I'm convinced he'll get a longer trip too. And he's only five!

i had the thought straight after the race that wow this could be another gold cup horse and i honestly think all things going right with him we will see him in the 2010 gold cup.
