I have an impacted wisdom tooth in the lower left part of my jaw that I have ignored for ages. It really started falling apart on Wednesday which forced me into action and I finally got to the dentist today. The dentist booked an appointment for me with a specialist in the Beacon. I had several choices but I decided on the Beacon as the dentist said there wasn't much difference in cost between the different places I could go. I was wondering has anyone here been to the Beacon dental clinic to have a wisdom tooth removed? and how much did it cost?

I don't mind paying more for a better level of service and care. But I know the Beacon is expensive in general as my mother used to go there for chemo treatments and I remember seeing the bills! Trying to save money for first house, so don't really need a big expensive medical bill at this time :(

If you're trying to save money see if the specialist you're seeing attends in any other hospitals. I see a consulatant who attends both the Mater Private and the Bons here in Glasnevin - getting treatment in the Bons is much cheaper. I had my wisdom teeth out there abourt 10 years ago and it was around £1000. My vhi also covers the bons but not MP, Blackrock or the Beacon. Like anything else these days you have to shop around.
