Ok, I have an XP Pro system here which has the default Administrator account & one other user account.

The user account is set to Administrator under the user account options in the control panel but for some reason it doesn't actually appear to have full Admin permissions.

The reason I suspect this is that a program on the user account will not run correctly but if I log out & log into the true Administrator account it runs fine.

Is there anywhere I can set the user account to have full (True) Admin rights with no permission restrictions?

you could right click on the program while holding down shift and then select "run as" and type in the admin username and password, instead of having to log out and relogin

if you uninstall the program and reinstall while in the user account it might fix it

    rightclick on "my computer"
    select manage
and user acounts and groups are in there

Lads, thanks for your input, but none of the above done the trick I'm afraid.

I think that it was just something a little screwed up with the user account & it was there from the start.

I sorted it in the end by creating a new account & deleting the dodgy one.

    All is working now :)
